Dankeroo is where people help each other through hard times. That works because people trust each other, and these rules keep it that way.

Be real

• Post only real, open bills. No invented stories, no edited invoices, no bills that are already paid.
• One bill once. Duplicates are closed automatically.
• Your story may be short. It must be true.

Be kind

• No harassment, hate, threats or shaming, in stories, thank-you notes or anywhere else.
• Nobody owes anybody help. Asking is welcome; pressuring people is not.

Protect privacy

• Blur other people's names, customer numbers and addresses where you can.
• Do not post children's faces or other people's photos without permission.
• Never ask for money outside Dankeroo, and never share bank details in stories.

Example stories

Stories marked Example are invented by us to show how Dankeroo works. They are not real people and cannot be paid. We never present examples as real requests.

Reporting

Something looks wrong? Tap Report on the bill. A moderator checks every report. We remove fraud and may close accounts and inform the authorities.
