Snap the bill that is weighing on you, Roo reads the details, and you share a few lines about what you are going through, with a photo of yourself. A person checks everything before your request goes live.
People nearby and further away read your story and give what they can – a little, or the whole rest. Sharing your link with friends and family helps too.
Once it is covered, Dankeroo pays the biller directly. If it is not covered within 14 days, everyone gets their money back in full.

No. Money never goes to private people. It is paid directly to the biller – for example the energy company, landlord or clinic – so it can only pay the bill.
Roo, our reading assistant, suggests the details from the invoice photo. A person then checks the invoice, IBAN and amount before the request goes live. Anyone who spots something odd can report a bill.
Posting a bill is free. When you chip in, Dankeroo Protection & payment costs of 10% are added on top. You see the total before you pay, and the bill receives 100% of your chip-in.
A bill stays open for 14 days. If it isn’t covered by then, everyone gets their chip-in back in full, protection & payment costs included.
A pledge is a promise to chip in without paying straight away. When the bill is fully pledged, you get a notification and have 48 hours to pay.
